Heritage Day Braai Stats

Dear All

With the founding member, Little Dreb's permission, we would like to credit BIP for the fact that nearly 50 million South Africans will be eating braaied food tomorrow. Your collective efforts in this regard are to be marvelled at and our sincere congratulations go out to all BIP members.

It is with great sadness however that we note the latest national braai statistics.

2009 figures have revealed less than 1 in 10 South Africans braai more than once a week (bipglocalresearch, p.1). Reasons for this range from sheer laziness to addiction to fast food outlets and even some freaky views on reducing carbon footprints.

It is my sincere hope that we can address these frightening issues at the BIP Convention in St. James tomorrow from lunch-early afternoon onwards. I will be providing a salad in order to overcome racial, class and gender stereotypes, but have not yet decided on what real food to braai yet.

I eagerly await the ensuing BIP convocation, but will also completely accept the fact that some BIP magi may feel the need for rituals closer to their endogenous carbon kinesian energy platforms (ECEPs) (also known as home braaiplaces in layperson terms).

Regards
